A mutant library of wax corn Jingkenuo2000 were made by 60Co-γ radiation. Seventy-five male sterile mutants were screened from it. A ms8 mutant without pollen grain and a silky1 mutant lack of anther were verified with sequencing and co-segregation of phenotypes and mutant alleles. Both mutants showed complete male sterility while normal seed-setting and vegetable development, which could be applied in new technology of hybrid production based on nuclear male sterility.
