推动转基因发展：诺奖得主呼吁您的参与
2017新年伊始，中国科协组织的“点赞·2016科普中国”活动将“超百位诺奖得主联署公开信，呼吁停止反对转基因技术”评为2016年十大科学传播事件之一。
这一事件在中国产生的影响尤其显著，它有力地推动了中国的转基因科普工作。据最新消息，此次参加签名的诺奖得主已经增加到123位，他们多是国际自然科学界享有崇高声誉的权威科学家，绝大多数与转基因农作物并无丝毫利益瓜葛，纯粹是为了捍卫科学真理、伸张社会正义而站出来，为推动转基因技术的发展而呼吁。
他们明确指出：迄今没有任何科学证据表明转基因农作物对人类健康和生态环境有害。绿色和平组织否认客观事实、抵制转基因产品，不仅阻碍了农业科技创新，而且对社会进步造成了巨大危害。诺奖得主领衔的签名信戳破了妖魔化转基因的谎言，澄清了转基因的是非，弘扬了科学精神。对于正在大力实施创新驱动发展战略、准备在“十三五”期间实现转基因玉米等作物产业化的中国，具有深刻的启迪，同时也是强有力的支持。
近日，公开签名信的发起人之一理查德（Richard J. Roberts）博士专门致函中国友人，热切期望有更多的中国人，尤其是生命科学领域的同行和朋友加入支持转基因技术的行列（来信译文附后）。

My dear Chinese colleagues and friends:
A belated greeting for the New Year of 2017 to you all and all yours.
As you know, I and more than 120 fellow Nobel Laureates, have launched a campaign in support of modern methods for the genetic modification of plants as a boost to agriculture. Our main aim is to counter the misinformation and outright lies that are being spread by the anti-GMO movement so that the very latest techniques for crop improvement can proceed at an appropriate pace.
In particular, we want to make sure that the benefits offered by these methods can be made available to the whole world, including its developing part to improve the quality of the food supply for all. GMO methods can make a huge difference and their adoption should not be prevented by much of the scaremongering that has been coming from those anti-GMO activists.
We need as many people as possible to join us in this campaign and I would urge you to visit our web site (http://supportprecisionagriculture.org/ ) and add your signatures, especially my colleagues and friends in China where you have contributed greatly to GMO research and its wide application.
